50th anniversary
On 29 October 1976 Richard Seewald died in Munich, shortly after a successful exhibition at Kunsthaus Lempertz in Cologne. He was buried in Ronco sopra Ascona, beside his wife Uli. Fifty years later, concert readings, a new monograph and his surviving murals keep the painter and writer present.
Seewald memorial days 2026
The Fondazione Richard e Uli Seewald commemorates the artist with three concert readings: excerpts from Seewald’s book “Gestehe, dass ich glücklich bin” (1942), read in Italian and German and interwoven with short string quartets by the composer Tina Inderbitzin.
